Christmas Already? Okay!

I was brought up in a household where we respected each holiday and did not run over the others before the next one was passed. I was really happy about this because it taught me patience as a kid.

Then everything changed when I went to college. I went to OCU where in the dance department, Christmas begins August and is rehearsed every day until Christmas break when we finish performing our Home for the Holidays show. And during those 4 years, I never once got sick of spending 4 months of each year celebrating Christmas.

Once I graduated, I tried going back to my roots by not decorating or listening to Christmas music until Thanksgiving passed. It felt unnatural to do this and so after a couple years of trying to obey my roots, I said SCREW IT, BRING IT ON CHRISTMAS! I’ve been listening to Christmas music since November 5th and I couldn’t be happier. Yesterday I set out my Christmas decorations which I’m in love with because they are minimal and modern and doesn’t clash with my apartment decor. And now my friends, I am feeling good inside. Especially since I’m living alone in Los Angeles and my family are all in Dallas. Christmas makes me feel like I have family around me all the time due to all the wonderful memories Christmas music brings to mind.

So yay for Christmas! And yay for Thanksgiving here in a few weeks!
